The Germans from the MTM tuning company were apparently not satisfied with the stock performance figures of the stock Audi S8, so they decided to work their magic on the massive sporty limousine from Ingolstadt.
As a reminder, a standard S8 boasts a base price of approximately 115.000 Euro, depending on the current exchange rates and has a supercharged, 4.0 litre V8 under the bonnet, that is able to pump up to 520 horsepower and 479 lb ft of torque. An 8 gear S-tronic automatic gearbox takes care of harnessing the colossal power output and makes sure to seamlessly change the gears, while the Quattro 4 wheel drive system contributes to the notable acceleration time, the 62 miles per hour mark coming in under 4.1 seconds.
However, should you consider that your brand new limousine is underpowered, MTM offers, for the small sum of 35.000 Euro (or the price of a brand new TT Coupe), a tuning package that increases the power output by 240 horsepower and 217 lb ft of torque. This is not all, as the specialists also do a recalibration of the gearbox, vastly improving the acceleration time of the S8, which takes precisely 3.48 seconds to reach 62 miles per hours from a stand still!
The maximum speed has also received a boost, as 201.9 mph is the threshold that the fitted tires can withstand, but with a new set of performance tires, the Nardo Ring setting takes the top speed to 217 mph.
The car is fitted with carbon-ceramic brake discs on all four wheels, while the pneumatic suspension system has received a new module that allows it to lower its ground clearance even more, in case the new owner wants to do so.
The changes aren’t purely mechanical, as the company also offers an exterior body kit, comprised from a front spoiler, a modified front grille, profiled side skirts, a boot spoiler and a different rear bumper, alongside a redesigned air diffuser. Manufactured from carbon fibre, it takes an RS-esque look, being very aggressive, but somewhat takes away the elegance of the standard S8. The price for the body kit is roughly 15.000 Euro. To round it off, the 21 inch, 9 spoke design wheels come from Bimoto and are fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, costing 6.300 Euro.
If you happen to want the car, but you don’t actually own one (yet), MTM is happy to sell you a complete project – car included – for the price of 189.708 Euro. What a bargain! Hurry, for the series is limited to 25 units.
On a more serious tone, a 760 horsepower limousine is not something to sneer at, so do appreciate the efforts of the engineers from MTM, as they made a great product – the S8 – become even better!
